QlikView Standard Training Courses

All standard remote and onsite (client premises) QlikView training is as per QlikTech’s classroom training courses and incorporates a mixture of demonstrations and hands-on exercises using sample data. This helps your users learn about the product and not your data.

The training course content and length of these courses can be tailored to suit the customer. It can range from:

QlikView Foundation

This training course introduces QlikView, why it is different and how to use it. The full functionality of the user interface is demonstrated, with working examples, to ensure the delegates get a full appreciation of the product. This can assist with ensuring the full benefit of QlikView is realised.

QlikView Foundation is an ideal training course for end users of QlikView, managers who want a greater understanding of QlikView, or business analysts who want to see the capabilities of QlikView to be able to write more intelligent specification documents.

Recommended pre-requisites: None

Duration: 0.5 days (4hrs) (but can be adjusted as per client requirements)

QlikView Designer 1

This training course introduces the basics of using QlikView and begin to start building effective user interfaces, including the use of sheets, list boxes and basic charts. In addition a short introduction to loading data into QlikView will be covered. QlikView Designer 1 is an ideal course for complete beginners to QlikView.

Duration: 1 Day (8hrs)

QlikView Designer 2

This training course expands on the principles covered in Designer 1 and will enable delegates to build more sophisticated user interfaces, including advanced charts, gauges and the use of buttons; actions, variables, reports, bookmarks and set analysis. QlikView Designer 2 is an ideal course for those who want to expand their knowledge on Designer 1 and create more advanced QlikView applications.

Recommended pre-requisites: QlikView Designer 1

Duration: 1 day (8hrs)

QlikView Developer 1

This training course covers the scripting element of a QlikView document. Delegates will learn to load data from a variety of sources and model this data within the QlikView application. It also introduces the use of master calendars and QVDs (QlikView Data Files)

QlikView Developer 1 is an ideal training course for those who want to load data into a QlikView application, even developers with some experience of loading data will benefit from best practice and scripting advice covered.

Recommended pre-requisites: QlikView Designer 1 and preferably QlikView Designer 2

Duration: 1 day (8hrs)

QlikView Developer 2

This training course expands on the principles covered in Developer 1 and will enable delegates to understand more complex scripting and data modelling, including working with multi-fact tables. Advanced Designer functions are also covered as well as considerations for performance tuning. Security within a QlikView application to limit data/functionality is also included. The standard material can be covered in 1 day, however if more detail is required or more of a workshop approach is required, 2 days is recommended.

QlikView Developer 2 is an ideal training course for those who will be handling more complex data structures. It can be particularly beneficial after some degree of practical experience of building QlikView applications.

Recommended pre-requisites: QlikView Designer 1, QlikView Designer 2 and QlikView Developer 1

Duration: 1-2 days (8hrs to 16hrs)
