We offer flexible options of delivering your Qlik Sense Enterprise Containerised solution;
- QSEoK as a managed service – Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes managed-platform. You own the software and the technology. On premise or Cloud hosted, supported by our technical services team,Ā as part of a managed service.
Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes (#QSEoK)ā What is it?
First we need to understand container services
If you remove the VM from a server and replace it with objects called containers that run containerised-services, then you get the potential for more efficient use from any given server or platform.
If the ability to create and provide these containerised-services is based upon demand and they flex/scale up and down, then this ability is described as elastic.
The world of DevOps has been utilising Container Services for many years now. Enterprise software is being ported to this type of platform to reduce the need to provision oversized servers to meet spikes in demand. Servers that are always-on have a very high TCO compared to the utility and business value that they provide. The historic compromise is to do more with less. and restrict access/availability. A no-win scenario. It is also not viable in mission critical scenarios where servers and services need to be provisioned 24×7. In these circumstances the provision of cloud based BI services can be very high indeed, resulting in many deployments being on premise. Thus, creating a further cost to support infrastructure.
Kubernetes (built by Google, and opensource) is the leading management or āorchestrationā tool for container service management. Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes is a specific offering of Qlik Sense Enterprise, built with behaviour that is common but with functionality that is specific to leverage container services.
Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes ā What are the benefits?
Reduced TCO
1 Elastic means you only pay for what you consume
2 Provision of the base server is significantly less than a Windows VM by as much as 50%
Increased Flexibility/Scalability
1 Resources are consumed as needed based upon pre-defined rules.
2 With correct configuration spikes in demand have no impact performance on other users.

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes –Ā Who is it for?
1 Everyone (as it works on premise also) however it does open doors where Windows is not supported, Linux is the preferred OS to deploy container services.
2 Those with larger deployments that want to port to cloud. To bring their computing closer to the data and improve end to end performance.
3 Those with a need for performance. Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes is also showing signs of being 10% more performant than a direct comparison to Qlik Sense Enterprise on a Windows VM**
*QSEoK is currently packaged and supported on AWS, Google, Azure.
